Canto latino QUARTET
AMANDA HANDEL - voice | JANE ANDINO - piano | GARY DALEY - accordion | MATT HANDEL - saxophones
Canto Latino draws from a wealth of artistic experience in a unique combination of renowned performers from the Blue Mountains. While all four of us have very distinctive styles with well-established reputations in separate areas, we each share a desire to venture into new territories and renovations within the Latin genre.
Concert description:
Sweeping across the world from Spain and Portugal to Latin America, Canto Latino Quartet makes a flightpath rendering up treasures of poetry and folklore in music and song. Our concert programs are mostly traditional Argentinean tango woven in with threads other Latin styles such as Mexican ranchera and sones, Portuguese fado, South American and Spanish folklórico. While our shows are generally programmed as concert performances, we really enjoy interacting with the spontaneity and creativity of tango and Latin dancers on other special occasions.
